Medium weight chipboard works best for a puzzle. Below is a links to different products on Amazon...
You can use various adhesives to attach a document / photo to the chipboard.
Steps
- Attach your document / photo to the piece of chipboard. Try and keep it parallel to one of the edges.
- Measure the dimensions of the puzzle. You will need this for the next step to create the SVG. For this puzzle it is 260mm x 201mm.
- Generate a Jigsaw SVG file - Click Here
- For this example I configured tiles to be 8 x 6 for a total of 48 pieces
- Remember to click Download SVG as this will be needed later
- Use Illustrator and create a document the desired size of the puzzle
- Use File -> Place function to import the SVG file into the AI document
